Microsoft To Offer Free Live Service Like Sony PS4's PSN? Don't Count On It

Added: 22.04.2013 3:18 | 21 views | 0 comments

Some of the rumors surrounding Microsoft and the Xbox 720 haven't exactly been very flattering. Blocking used games, requiring an Internet connection to do anything? They've been bad enough that some gamers have already been convinced to jump ship and switch to Sony and the PS4.

If you concern about the game industry, you definitely should pay attention to the platform development, sales, transition and market and so forth. However, recently, due to the upswing of the mobile game among the players, many developers are flowing into the mobile market which makes some analysts a little frighten. So...

Call of Duty is Microsofts Key for a Successful Reveal

Added: 20.04.2013 13:18 | 16 views | 0 comments

VG Republic Writes: Dan Amrich, we as a gaming community have to thank you for confirming what we had a hunch was coming and were hoping for in the end, but your confirmation that we will see the next iteration of Call of Duty being revealed no later than E3 is like Christmas in June for many of us. Microsoft is partially thrilled, but on the other hand is somewhat disgusted with the fact that their biggest card was played so soon. Activision has joined forces with Microsoft more times than can be counted, so the thought that the next Call of Duty joining hands and walking to the stage with the Xbox 720 seems a likely pairing. For that very reason the thought that an edge might have been slightly lost when Amrich made his statement has to be frustrating, via his YouTube Channel and reported by CVG, but at the same time is quite satisfying to know that such a powerful force rests within the confines of your hand; it sure is easier to sleep at night knowing so. Bringing forth the next...

GameZone's Matt Liebl writes, "It doesn't take a genius to realize Microsoft's expected next-Xbox event would be the perfect stage for Activision to announce the next installment of its popular first-person shooter franchise. Over the past few years the Xbox 360 has made itself the premiere platform for Call of Duty mostly because of the exclusive DLC agreement between Microsoft and Activision."

Firaxis: Civilization No Longer Right for Consoles

Added: 19.04.2013 12:18 | 26 views | 0 comments

GamerZines writes: In an exclusive interview with FirstLook Magazine, Firaxis' Dennis Shirk has revealed that there aren't any future plans to bring Civilization to consoles again, despite the lure of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 lurking around the corner. Firaxis notably tried to bring their grand strategy series to consoles in 2008 with Civilization Revolution, but it seems the studio are hesitant to make the same jump in the future despite the recent multi-format success of XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

PS4 Updates: Potential May Reveal to Show Great Design and Support for Used Games?

Added: 19.04.2013 8:18 | 16 views | 0 comments

By Gilda Galang Whether it's a coincidence or an upfront competitiveness, PS4 seems to be gearing up for a May reveal of the actual console, though its event may come in earlier compared to the Durango reveal that's predicted on May 21. PC Mag reports that a source that's familiar with Sony's marketing campaigns has plans for a big announcement. This will mean that Sony will have to create its own event, if it's not pushing its big reveal at the E3 in June. If the May reveal does take place, then this can mean that the E3 may feature more specs and demonstrations for the PS4. It can be a neck-and-neck competition on the reveal, not only with regard to the consoles' features and specs, but also with the impact that they may bring to the E3. If anything, it does make sense for both Sony and Microsoft to reveal their next-gen consoles before the E3 event, so that they can focus on showcasing the prowess of the PS4 and Xbox 720 when it comes to games.
